One may wonder, why join another association? What does the Iowa Reading Association have to offer me? As professionals, we need to be recognized and continue to grow as future leaders. Therefore, both associations are here for our benefit.

Iowa Reading Association offers discount registration at the state conference and publishes quarterly newsletters. The association gives local council grants and awards. Other benefits include community services, parent involvement, a web site, and professional development. The Leadership Conference in June offers local leaders of your council time to exchange ideas, learn how to increase membership, discover Iowa authors, and socialize with other councils.

International Reading Association benefits are conferences at different locations, publications with discounts, and research projects. Other advantages are literacy projects, global friendships, and a web site. All of this is offered at a very inexpensive price!
