Local Council Grant Deadline

The Iowa Reading Association may give grants of up to $250 to local councils of the Iowa Reading Association according to the following guidelines and criteria.

Criteria

Each council that sends 2 or more representatives to the Summer Leadership Workshop will receive one-half of the local council grants ($125) which will be paid after September 1. The other half will be given in accordance with the listed grant criteria that have been established. If a council does not have those representatives at the Summer Leadership Workshop, it will only receive $125 as a local council grant for submitting memberships by October 1.

Guidelines

1. The money may be used as seed money to develop a program or project of their choosing.
2. The grant would be applied for in writing by the local council president to the Iowa Reading Association State Coordinator (Dani Wagaman) for approval prior to October 1, 2023.
3. The council’s written request must clearly state the intended use of the grant.
4. The official application form and voucher must be used in order to be considered for a grant. The official form is attached.
5. Payments will not be made to councils if officers have not met requirements for the Iowa Reading Association.
6. Payments for the second half of the grant will be made after the fall Board of Directors Meeting and sent to the Local Council Treasurer after October 15.

 This grant is distributed in two parts:

• Part One – check is sent after September 1, 2023 if your local council has at least 2 representatives at the June 16^th Leadership Workshop in Ames.
• Part Two – check is sent after October 15, 2023 if your local council gets the bulk of their memberships sent to Iowa Reading Membership Director, Julie Anderson by October 1, 2023.
